Institute of Systems and Robotics of University of Coimbra opens a call for a grant of type BI in accordance with the regulation of advanced training and human resources of FCT, for the CMU-Portugal project STRETCHTRONICS: Soft and Stretchable Mechatronics for Wearable Devices: Fabrication, Implementation and Applications.

The grant is for 6 months, starting in October/November 2018, renewable for equal periods, until the end of the Project. Candidate will develop work in the area of design and implementation of various electro-mechanical systems, including soft robots, soft and printed electronics, and soft sensors. Holders of MScs in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics engineering or similar areas can apply,as long as they have skills in one or more of the following areas:
 
3D Design and modelling with CAD software (Solidworks, Fusion, Etc.) as well as 3D printing 
Mechatronics: Design and Implementation
Other relevant skills that count as an advantage include Design and implementation of PCBs, Microsoldering, CNC machines, soft robots, silicone based structures, design of electro-mechanical systems, and embedded systems. Candidate are encouraged to mention these skills in their CV.
