Title:
Heterogeneous Computing: Making the most of CPUs, GPUs and FPGAs

Abstract:
Heterogeneity in computing has gained considerable momentum over the past years. The possibility to match application-level diversity to architectural diversity has been an attractive option. I will talk about our work on performance prediction in heterogeneous systems comprising CPUs and GPUs. Next, I will present our approach to achieving performance benefits through the use of FPGAs in designing scalable convolutional neural network engines.

Short Bio:
Madhura is with Amrita University, Bangalore since Feb 2015. Prior to which she was a post-doctoral fellow with an International Research Fellowship from the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemenischaft), at the Processor Architecture Lab, EPFL, Switzerland and the High performance Computing Lab, IISc., Bangalore.
Madhura’s research interests are in Reconfigurable Computing Systems and Architectures. She has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Heinz Nixdorf Institute, University of Paderborn, Germany. Her Master's degree is from University of Alberta, Canada. Prior to which, she has spent about 4 years in the Indian Semiconductor Industry.
