Cyber security and post-quantum Crypto/MSc Main attributions and activities:
Keep up to date with the latest security and technology developments
Research/evaluate emerging cyber security threats and ways to manage them and different cryptographic primitives and protocols. Examples may include lightweight identification and authentication protocols, key management protocols providing long-term security, incremental cryptographic primitives, and quantum-secure protocols based on different post-quantum primitives.
Liaise with stakeholders in relation to cyber security and cryptography issues and provide future recommendations
Technological scouting;
Track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics;
Preparation of periodic technical-scientific reports in English on relevant work developments.
Participation in the dissemination and promotion of the main results. 
 Profile:
The candidate must have a master degree in the area of ​​Computer Science, Informatics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related fields. 
Preference will be given to anyone with experience in cyber security and advanced and post-quantum cryptography.
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team in an international environment and to work independently
Strong interest in research and science
Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
Blockchain and smart contracts/MSc Main attributions and activities:
Keep up to date with the latest technology developments
Research/evaluate emerging and fundamental aspects of blockchain, including but not limited to cryptography for formal security proofs and privacy-preserving authentication, consensus mechanisms, and smart contract validation.
Liaise with stakeholders in relation to blockchain systems, consensus protocol and smart contracts issues and provide future recommendations
Technological scouting;
Track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics;
Preparation of periodic technical-scientific reports in English on relevant work developments.
Participation in the dissemination and promotion of the main results.

Biometrics and Artificial Intelligence/PhD/MSc Main attributions and activities:
Lead and conduct R&I activities in the field of biometrics, facial recognition and artificial intelligence
Research/evaluate emerging and fundamental aspects of biometrics, focused, but not limited, to faces, with the state of the art standards on artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Liaise with stakeholders in relation to biometrics, facial recognition and artificial intelligence issues and provide future recommendations
Work in multidisciplinary teams, in different faculties or schools in academia, and in different functions of the business in industry;
Collaborate with industry and academia to apply the results of research and develop new techniques, products or practices;
Devise or help to draw up new research proposals and apply for funding 
Communicate results to the scientific community via published papers, as well as in academic conferences;
Keep well-informed of useful information, resources, equipment, tools, technical and technological development in related fields, to ensure research capacity is up-to-date;
Supervise students (in co-coordination with academia), train and supervise other members of staff;
Assigning, coordinating, and reviewing the technical and scientific work.
 Profile:
The candidate must have a PhD (preferential) or MSc in the areas of Computer Science, Informatics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related fields, with proven experience in:
biometrics and/or facial recognition
artificial intelligence
machine learning
Preference will be given to anyone who has published scientific articles in the area as author or co-author and experience in the draft and production of reports and deliverables for science-related projects;
Strong research and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to formulate research plan, collect and analyze useful data and information; knowledge of research tools and methodology;
Demonstrated ability to manage projects and project members to deliver objectives on time;
Ability to work unsupervised, in a rapidly changing environment;
Excellent English communication skills, orally as well as in scientific writing.
Research Engineer / MScMain attributions and activities:
Research and develop solutions in the scope of a biometric system for enrollment and authentication of people with specific activities in areas such as facial image and video, biometrics and interaction with hardware components such as cameras and vision systems.
Development activities in the areas of Computer Vision, Graphics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Programming in C++/C with OpenCV (preferential), ML frameworks and Python.
Collaborate with industry and academia to apply the results of research and develop new techniques, products or practices.
 Profile:
The candidate must have a master degree in the area of ​​Computer Science, Informatics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics or related fields. 
Preference will be given to anyone with experience in biometrics, facial recognition, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team in an international environment and to work independently
Strong interest in research and science
Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
