CALL FOR 1 (ONE) RESEARCH GRANT FOR MASTERS UNDER THE PROJECT WITH THE REFERENCE PTDC/EEI-ROB/1155/2020

The Instituto de Sistemas e Robótica (ISR-UC) opens a call for 1 (one) research Grant for Masters (BI) under the project with the reference PTDC/EEI-ROB/1155/2020, designated by “HAVATAR- Robots Tele-Autónomos para Aplicações de Valor Acrescentado em Cuidados de Saúde”.

 

Application profile: Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Engineering or similar.

 

Workplan: Development of semi-autonomous robot behaviors and user interfaces that exploit the spatial and social contingencies of the local environment. This includes the development of spatial skills namely:

(i) 2D and 3D spatial mapping and localization;

(ii) detection of obstacles and other spatial landmarks;

(iii) semantic tagging and mapping of objects and persons;

(iv) spatial memory (salient past locations).
