Este mês de julho é lançado o Programa de Trabalhos da ERC para o ano de 2024. Na mesma altura será confirmado o seguinte calendário de calls: 

· ERC Starting Grant 2024 (ERC-2024-StG) abre a 11/07/2023 e termina a 24/10/2023. 

· ERC Consolidator Grant 2024 (ERC-2024-CoG) abre a 12/09/2023 e termina a 12/12/2023. 



A atividade fundamental do ERC é fornecer financiamento atrativo e de longo prazo para apoiar investigadores/as de excelência e as suas equipas para desenvolver investigação disruptiva que promova um avanço no conhecimento em qualquer domínio científico. 



Por forma a apoiar as candidaturas dos nossos investigadores e das nossas investigadoras a estas duas calls Starting e Consolidator , no âmbito da [ https://www.uc.pt/iii/erc-uc/ | ERC at UC ] , a UC propõe os seguintes recursos: 

· Sessão Masterclass Writing ERC-2024 para níveis Starting e Consolidator , com consultora externa, com o fim de ajudar no processo de redação da candidatura - a realizar online no dia 14 de julho ; 

· Acompanhamento e revisão da candidatura (parte B1) pelas Gestoras do Núcleo das Áreas Estratégicas; 

· Articulação com a DAPI ( [ https://www.uc.pt/research/ERCs/ | dapi at uc.pt ] ), o NCP para as ERCs Dr. Rui Munhá ( [ https://www.uc.pt/iii/aeuc/ | Rui.Munha at fct.pt ] ) e consultoras de apoio; 

· Algumas candidaturas poderão ainda usufruir de revisão da parte B1 pela consultora externa. As condições desta revisão serão partilhadas posteriormente. 



Agradecemos a divulgação pronta desta oportunidade aos investigadores e às investigadoras da sua Unidade I&D. Declarações de interesse para as restantes calls de 2024, nomeadamente ERC-2024-AdG, também são bem-vindas.

Os interessados e as interessadas já inscritos e inscritas na iniciativa ERC at UC são contactados/as em paralelo, e não têm de voltar a declarar o seu interesse . 



FCT lança Programa ERC Portugal Pre-Assessment 

Em paralelo, vimos também partilhar que a FCT lançou na semana passada o Programa ERC Portugal Pre-Assessment ( [ https://www.fct.pt/financiamento/programas-de-financiamento/outros-apoios/erc-pt-pre-assessment/ | https://www.fct.pt/financiamento/programas-de-financiamento/outros-apoios/erc-pt-pre-assessment/ ] ). Trata-se de um serviço de avaliação por pares, que a FCT disponibilizará aos/às investigadores/as da comunidade científica nacional que se encontrem em fase de preparação de candidaturas aos concursos de projetos ERC. 



As propostas serão avaliadas segundo os critérios de avaliação do ERC para respetivo concurso, sendo as avaliações realizadas por peritos internacionais, com perfis de elevada experiência em processos de avaliação, preferencialmente como membros de painel nos concursos ERC. 



Este programa permitirá apoiar submissões já para o próximo concurso ERC Starting Grants (ERC-2024-StG). Para o efeito, o primeiro ciclo de pré-avaliação das propostas ao ERC Portugal Pre-Assessment decorre até ao dia 20 de julho de 2023 (quinta-feira). This July, the ERC Work Program for the year 2024 will be launched. At the same time, the following calendar of calls will be confirmed: 

· ERC Starting Grant 2024 (ERC-2024-StG) opens on 11/7/2023 and ends on 24/10/2023. 

· ERC Consolidator Grant 2024 (ERC-2024-CoG) opens 12/9/2023 and closes on 12/12/2023. 

· 

The core activity of the ERC is to provide attractive, long-term funding to support outstanding researchers and their teams for groundbreaking research that advances knowledge in any scientific domain. 



In order to support the applications of our researchers, and within the scope of the [ https://www.uc.pt/en/iii/erc-uc/ | ERC at UC ] initiative, the UC proposes the following resources: 

· Masterclass Writing Session ERC-2024 for Starting and Consolidator Levels , with an external consultant, in order to assist you in the writing process of the application - online and scheduled for 14 July ; 

· Support and review of the application (part B1) by the Managers of the Strategic Areas Unit; 

· Articulation with DAPI ( [ mailto:dapi at uc.pt | dapi at uc.pt ] ), National Contact Point for ERC Dr. Rui Munhá ( [ mailto:Rui.Munha at fct.pt | Rui.Munha at fct.pt ] ), and Support Consultants. 

· Some applications may also benefit from the revision of part B1 by the external consultant. Conditions of this review will be shared later. 

· 

We appreciate the prompt dissemination of this opportunity to the researchers of your R&D Unit. Declarations of interest for the remaining 2024 calls, namely ERC-2024-AdG, are also welcome. 



If interested, candidates for the ERC-2024-StG and ERC-2024-CoG must respond to this [ https://ls.uc.pt/index.php/689999 | short survey ] by July 10, 2023, which aims to confirm some details of the career and map out their needs. Alternatively, they may contact the Strategic Areas Unit and declare their interest by email at [ mailto:nae at uc.pt | nae at uc.pt ] until July 10, 2023 . Interested candidates who are already enrolled in the ERC at UC initiative are contacted in parallel, and do not have to declare their interest again. 



FCT launches ERC Portugal Pre-Assessment Program 



In parallel, we also share that FCT launched last week the ERC Portugal Pre-Assessment Program ( [ https://www.fct.pt/financiamento/programas-de-financiamento/outros-apoios/erc-pt-pre-assessment/ | https://www.fct.pt/financiamento/programas-de-financiamento/outros-apoios/erc-pt-pre-assessment/ ] ). This is a peer review service, which FCT will make available to researchers from the national scientific community who are in the process of preparing applications for the European Research Council (ERC) calls. 



Proposals will be evaluated according to the ERC evaluation criteria for the respective calls, with the evaluations carried out by international experts, with profiles of high experience in evaluation processes, preferably as panel members in ERC calls. 



This program will support submissions for the next ERC Starting Grants call, whose application deadline will end on October 24, 2023. For this purpose, the first cycle of pre-assessment of proposals to the ERC Portugal Pre-Assessment runs until the 20 th July 2023 (Thursday).
