[AllUsers-ISR] Invitation to the REPowerE(d)U European Conference – 28 April, Coimbra

Good afternoon

The *Institute of Systems and Robotics of the University of Coimbra 
(ISR-UC)* is organising, in collaboration with the *Regional Office of 
the National Engineers Association (Order of Engineers) – Central Region 
(OE-RC)*, the *European Conference of the REPowerE(d)U* project, 
co-funded by the European Commission’s LIFE programme.

This European Conference will be held in English on 28 April at the 
OE-RC head office, in accordance with the draft agenda (see link below), 
and it is entitled *“Virtual & Augmented Reality: Tools for Training and 
Skill Improvement in the Energy Sector”*.

On behalf of the *REPowerE(d)U Consortium, ISR-UC *invites you to attend 
this important event, where the use of innovative tools as *Artificial* 
*Intelligence (AI)*, *Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) 
*in the education and training will be discussed, as well as the 
progress of the REPowerE(d)U project, alongside with the various tools 
(VR/AR applications, and other content) that have been developed by the 
project team.

The event will begin with a brief presentation of the consortium, 
project and its objectives. This will be followed by presentations made 
by national and international speakers on the use of innovative tools 
such as *AI, VR and AR* in education and vocational training. 
Subsequently, the various materials developed for the seven REPowerE(d)U 
courses, that aim to strengthen the skills of professionals in the 
energy, energy services and buildings (maintenance and operation) 
sectors through specialised training in innovative technologies (solar 
photovoltaic systems, energy storage, smart electric vehicle charging, 
heat pumps, etc.), will be presented.

The REPowerE(d)U courses were designed as support tools for 
teachers/trainers seeking to introduce new concepts into the labour 
market, such as electrical flexibility and the orchestration of energy 
services/assets, with the goal of improving energy efficiency, 
stabilising the national electricity grid and mitigation of blackouts 
(such as the one that occurred in Portugal, in the past April of 2025).

In the afternoon, there will be a demonstration session of the nine 
virtual and augmented reality applications developed within the project, 
where participants will have the opportunity to try them out.
