Research Grants for Students (BIC)<br>
in the scope of the Scientific Research Project <span
style="font-size: 13pt;">"PRR-GreenAuto: Green Innovation for the
Automotive Industry (PPS 18 - 3D navigation system for mobile

<br>
</span><b>Scientific Area:</b> Electrical and Computer Engineering
or closely related fields.<br>
<b>Admission requirements: </b>Graduates enrolled in non-degree
programs and/or students enrolled in undergraduate or master's
degree programs in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical
Engineering or Physics Engineering. Advanced knowledge in C/C++ or
Python development. Proficiency in oral and written Portuguese or
English. <br>
<br>
<b>Location: </b>The works will take place at the Instituto de
Sistemas e Robótica – Universidade de Coimbra.<br>
<b>Work plan:</b> The selected candidates will work out R&D on
ML-based Perception and Navigation for AMRs targeting industrial
applications. The work plan comprises colaboration in the following
tasks: <br>
- Acquisition of datasets using ROS, in industrial context. <br>
- Annotation of multimodal data for object 6D pose estimation and
object tracking. <br>
- Design and execution of real-world evaluation scenarios, including
testing of tracking, detection, 6D pose estimation, and Simultaneous
Localization and Mapping (SLAM) pipelines, developed under the
GreenAuto Agenda (PPS18). Tests will be conducted using the InterBot
mobile robot and additional robotic platforms.<br>
