Project: InGestAlgae - Intelligent Microalgae Production Management Platform

Scientific area: Electrotechnical and Computer Engineering, Informatics Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering, or related areas.

Objectives: Research and development activities will be carried out in the area of artificial intelligence (Machine Learning), focusing on the development of an integrated management system, supported by computational intelligence systems, to support the production process of microalgae:
(i) an intelligent system for disaggregating and managing the consumption of energy resources in the microalgae production process, through energy monitoring supported by computational intelligence.
(ii) an intelligent maintenance system, in order to reduce process downtime and forced shutdown.
(iii) an intelligent system for the optimization of the microalgae production process, allowing an efficient control of the process conditions, and the detection of contamination.

This project results from a consortium between the company Oncontrol Technologies, the University of Coimbra (UC), through the Institute of Systems and Robotics (ISRUC), and the company BuggyPower, as a partner in the project and demonstrator of the technology.
