Are you in need of more experimental data but it's timely and costly to 
set up?
Do you need an exact ground truth which is hard to obtain in real life? 
Virtual
experiments offer all these benefits and more. You can even perform
experiments faster than real time or multiple experiments in parallel.
If you don't know where to begin, then this is the session for you.
We present some use cases and show how easy it is to set up a virtual
simulation to boost your research. We invite everyone to bring their
own cases. In the second half of this session, we will discuss how to
set up your own virtual experiment in the game engine Unity. Time
permitting, we can even already implement the basics.

David Van Hoecke is an experienced practical lecturer and
sustainable industry applied researcher with a strong background
in technology. With over 25 years of IT experience, specializing
  in .NET development, David brings a wealth of knowledge to his
teaching of game design and real-time 3D development. His current
research focuses on Automotive data, AI, XR using Unity game
engine, and safety training. With a passion for innovation, David
aims to leverage immersive technologies to enhance
training methodologies. Outside of work, he enjoys
sailing, gaming, and reading.
