Vimos por este meio informar que estão abertas as candidaturas para a 7.ª edição dos " <https://www.uc.pt/iii/iiiuc-apoia/seedprojects-uc/edicao-2026/> Projetos Semente de Investigação Interdisciplinar", financiada pela Fundação Santander Portugal, promovida pelo Núcleo das Áreas Estratégicas da UC (NAE), em colaboração com o Instituto de Investigação Interdisciplinar (IIIUC).  

 

O período de candidaturas decorrerá até o dia 6 de novembro de 2025 às 17h (hora de Lisboa). 

 

À semelhança das edições anteriores, o concurso visa apoiar equipas coordenadas por investigadores/as integrados/as nas Unidades I&D (ou noutras estruturas) em início de carreira (e até dez anos após a defesa do doutoramento), que desenvolvam investigação na UC e que se proponham desenvolver projetos interdisciplinares e alinhados com as Áreas Estratégicas da UC, incentivando a independência científica e o desenvolvimento de capacidade de liderança. A equipa do projeto deve incluir entre três e seis Investigadores/as da UC, incluindo o/a Investigador/a Responsável (IR), pertencentes a, pelo menos, duas Unidades I&D de áreas científicas distintas. Serão financiados até cinco projetos de investigação interdisciplinar, um por cada  <https://www.uc.pt/spgi/nae/> Área Estratégica da UC: Saúde; Clima, Energia e Mobilidade; Recursos Naturais, Agroalimentar e Ambiente; Digital, Indústria e Espaço; Património, Cultura e Sociedade Inclusiva. Cada projeto vencedor poderá beneficiar de um financiamento máximo de 20.000 euros.

We hereby inform you that applications are now open for the 7th edition of the “ <https://www.uc.pt/en/iii/iiiuc-supports/seedprojects-uc/2026-edition/> Seed Projects for Interdisciplinary Research” funded by the Santander Portugal Foundation and promoted by the UC Strategic Areas Unit (NAE), in collaboration with the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research (IIIUC).   

 

The application period will run until November 6, 2025, at 5 p.m. (Lisbon time).  

 

As in previous editions, the call aims to support teams coordinated by early-career researchers (up to ten years after obtaining their PhD), affiliated with UC’s R&D Units (or other UC structures), that carry out research at the UC and propose to develop interdisciplinary projects aligned with UC’s Strategic Areas, fostering scientific independence and the development of leadership skills. The project team must include between three to six UC researchers, including the Principal Investigator (PI), from at least two R&D Units of the UC in different scientific areas. Up to five interdisciplinary research projects will be funded, one in each of the  <https://www.uc.pt/en/spgi/strategic-areas-unit/> UC’s Strategic Areas: Health; Climate, Energy and Mobility; Natural Resources, Agri-food and Environment; Digital, Industry and Space; Heritage, Culture and Inclusive Society. Each winning project may receive a maximum funding of €20,000.
